About the Slum Film Festival

Slum Film Festival (SFF) is Africa’s first film festival dedicated to stories from informal settlements. Founded in 2010, SFF has become a platform for empowerment, creative expression, and community impact through film.

Over the years, we have:
Trained & mentored hundreds of young filmmakers.
Screened 100+ films showcasing life in marginalized communities.
Hosted thousands of audience members through community screenings and events.
Grown into a movement that champions storytelling as a tool for change.
